Hannah demonstrates the Vipr Uppercut TECHNIQUE: This movement uses the lunge and resist twist patterns. It is a great way to break down the lunge pattern, work on keeping knees facing forward and pushing them out. When bringing the surge up it is important to power through the movement, keeping it up in the final position. ADVANTAGES: This movement engages the glutes, hamstrings, quads as well as the core with the resist twist movement. FAULTS: It is easy to slip out of proper form as there are several different motions occurring at once. Make sure to extend elbows in final movement and keep knees above feet as well as maintaining a straight back. SCALING: This can be changed to a plyo lunge to increase intensity or can hold a static lunge, keeping the uppercut to decrease difficulty.
