Technique- Start like a regular clean, lift the bar from the ground and travel through the clean, only stopping right before the rack. Get the bar through the hang and shrug heavily with an aggresive pull. Do not complete the clean. This weight is to be done with 90%-110% of your 1 RM. Advantages- Builds strength and speed on the pull. Faults- Do not let the bar come away, do not skip the triple extension. The weight is heavy and the work should be done with the legs. You will not be able to row this weight, therefore to get height on the bar you have to practice being explosive through the legs. Scaling- Lower the weight or just practice doing conventional deadlifts to the hip. Once you are comfortable with that add in the triple extension.
