Functional Trainer - Lat Pulldown

TECHNIQUE: The Lat Pulldown is a great way to engage and strength your Latissimus Dorsi (Lat) muscles. Be sure to keep your back straight and don't lean back as you pull down. Make your back work, not your body. Keep your hands wide, as a narrow grip will result in more bicep/shoulder work. ADVANTAGES: A great movement for isolating the lats and improving shoulder strength and function. The Lat Pulldown is a great exercise to build pull up strength and technique FAULTS: Common faults include narrow grip, leaning too far back, pulling down behind the back instead of to the chest, and shoulders dropping. SCALING: Movement can performed with a single arm attachment if you are having trouble with lat engagement on a certain side.
