It is the first official visit by an Israeli Prime Minister to Egypt in more than a decade. Naftali Bennett's trip to Sharm El Sheikh signals a warming in relations between the two countries. They signed a peace treaty in 1979. Bennett said his meeting with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has created a foundation for deep ties in the future. The two also discussed the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Egypt said ways to revive the peace process in the Middle East, were high on the agenda.
