The 2011 annual Harry Middleton Lectureship, Sponsored by the LBJ Foundation presents: Former President Jimmy Carter. Jimmy Carter spoke with LBJ Library Director Mark Updegrove. Major topics of the evening included analysis of current events in the Middle East and Jimmy Carter's pre- and post- presidency career. Part III of the discussion touches on Jimmy Carter's presidential campaign, with specific mention of George Wallace and Ted Kennedy. Jimmy Carter talks about his own presidency and his proudest accomplishment of maintaining peace, especially with regard to the treaty he helped negotiate between Israel and Egypt. Jimmy Carter talks about his legacy, specifically the Carter Presidential Library and the Carter Center.
