The story of La Fontaine tells that the grasshopper spent the summer singing and dancing while the ant was working to do her house and to gather food. When the cold winter came the grasshopper asked the ant for help because she had neither cover nor food. New Atlantis pulls this legend down to explain how these small beings really are.
