The map of Papua island is the transition zone between the islands of Indonesia and Oceania. The ferocity of tribes living there have fueled legends of cannibals and head cutters. This episode approaches the lifestyles of these people to show their fighting spirit, the structure of their society and their ancestral beliefs. We will witness the initiation ceremonies of tolai people: painful tests that certify the maturity of the initiates and allows them to get started in fishing and canoeing. These boats, colorfully decorated, play an important role in the life and eschatology of these peoples. Our cameras will attend puri-puri rituals, black magic that opens doors to the world of the dead. Use of masks, fetishes and dances helps the spirits claim. The documentary also shows an interesting sports phenomenon: the particular version of cricket practicing these people to channel their warlike spirit in meetings that can last eight or ten hours.
