Dramatic Sniper Footage - War Action in Burmese Jungle (1944). Various shots of British troops advancing through jungle on the Arakan Front. Men of the 14th Army advance across open area, crossing Japanese barbed wire. Jungle warfare was terrifying and exhausting. Booby-traps, mines, and even well hidden soldiers amongst the tree tops made the jungle one of the most difficult places to fight. Very few areas of jungle were open, but when the issue did arise, as demonstrated in this video, many lives are lost due to well hidden snipers in the tree tops. Burma remained under Japanese control up until 1944 when the Allies launched a successful campaign against them. Resources were mainly focused on the war against the Nazis thus lengthening the Allied campaigns in South-East Asia.
