Didn’t think Gabby Barrett’s song “I Hope” could get any angrier? Well, you thought wrong! Laila Mach auditions for American Idol with her own, original song “I Hope,” inspired by Gabby Barrett’s song with the same title. Katy Perry calls Laila Mach’s song “a more deranged version” of Gabby’s, but quickly follows that by telling Laila that she has “exactly what it takes to be in this competition and go far.” Luke Bryan calls Laila’s performance “very impressive,” and Lionel gives it a “yes, yes, yes and YES!” See more of American Idol 2021 on our official site: www.americanidol.com Like American Idol on Facebook: www.facebook.com/AmericanIdol Follow American Idol on Twitter: twitter.com/americanidol Follow American Idol on Instagram: www.instagram.com/americanidol/ AMERICAN IDOL, the iconic series that revolutionized the television landscape by pioneering the music competition genre, returns on ABC.
