Terracing the slope, south of our gardens - Sepp Holzer Permaculture style

submitted by Ching Yang on 06/08/14 1

A little shout out to Paul Wheaton of www.Permies.com for all his hard work on the permaculture front. Check out some of our other videos, I think you'll like what we are up to! Inspired by Sepp Holzer in Austria and his way of gardening at high altitude, steep terrain and generally areas not thought of as agriculturally viable, we started terracing the south slope of our gardens. Its an area that we would like to plant with fruit trees, maybe some grapes, lavender and many small shrubs and bushes. We are working hard here everyday with the help of volunteers to make these dreams of self -sufficiency a reality. Considering that only one and half years ago we didn't have power or running water never mind gardens... we are pretty proud of what we have achieved. For more info on what we are up to check out some of our other videos and go our website, www.jewelcreek.ca
