If you can keep a garden you can be a beekeeper. One huge benefit of beekeeping is they will help your garden and orchard to thrive and grow. And then of course there's the honey. A nice byproduct. Not to mention the joy of a hobby that the will involve the entire family. If more people would take up the hobby of beekeeping it might help the bees at a time when this critical pollinator is in trouble. If the bees honey bees disappear so does life on this earth as we know it. The health and welfare of our bees is everyone's responsibility.
