Boxing Day Montreal

submitted by 99media on 06/07/14 1

The 99% protesters of Occupy Montreal hit the streets on Boxing Day 2011 to raise awareness on the problems of consumerism. They where joined by the Syrian flash mob of Montreal who also hit the streets to raise awareness about the atrocities that the Arab Spring Syrian protesters have had to endure. Overall, the atmosphere of collaboration between the different groups was spontaneous and organic. The 99% had originally decided to join the Syrian flash mob in Montreal's underground malls but they where prevented from doing so by security guards. This video was also an exercise of collaboration between different media people. This video could not have been made possible if several people with cameras did not work together to cover both the Syrian flash mob and the 99% protest. a wonderful example of what collaboration among a leaderless people produces.
