On the 29th of October 2011 the Syrian solidarity movement of Montreal staged a march from Norman Bethune Square to Philips Square on the same day that the Occupy Montreal called for the 99% to march. We all marched together to protest injustice at home and across the world. A letter from the youth of Homs, the Syrian city that still stands defiant against the brutality of the regime, was read. "we are fighting with the only weapon we have; our voices... we do not want bullets, we just want your support and your voices.. we can be silent no longer"
