She is survived by her husband Mike Newman, her daughters August Walker Spencer and Jesse Walker, her grandchildren Jaxon Charles Davis, Tessah Walker-Beck, Zeda Spencer, and Kingstyn Walker. She also leaves behind her brother Johnny Lloyd Redd, her sisters Patsy Caldwell & Cindy Throne, as well as her many cousins, nephews and nieces. Lastly, but not least, she leaves behind many friends that she cherished as family throughout the years. She is reunited with her mother & father Cecil Redd & Henry Louis Redd Jr, her sister Joyce Ann Redd Millican, and some of her very best friends in heaven. Barbara Jo Redd was born into this life on August 11, 1949 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tn. She attended Treadwell Elementary school, and later graduated from Harrisburg High School in Harrisburg, Arkansas. Shortly thereafter, Barbara attended college at Arkansas University in Jonesboro, Ark and successfully pursued her goal of a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education Degree. She moved back to Memphis, Tn and had a short career as a physical education teacher before she started a lifelong career with the TN State Department of Health & Human Services where she worked as a counselor & later a supervisor in helping those in need. Helping those in need was her specialty. However, she was a talented gardener with the most amazing green thumb, an artist at heart, an adventurer of everything nature, and a lover of of animals. She was a nuturer to all living things.
