What is truth? 2:07 Verses 1-2: Hearken . . . Hear Him . . . Give ear to Him. Where do you tune your ear? 5:25 Verse 2: There are so many causes we can take up. How do we choose the cause that matters most? 11:53 Verse 3: Courtroom analogy: In the legal realm, Jesus can be placed in the role of advocate, mediator, intercessor, refuge, counselor, defense, judge, representative, and witness but in this analogy, He is never the accuser. 17:08 Verses 4-5: Salvation is available through the merits, mercy, and grace of Jesus Christ. A suggested topical guide study is to look up the words “earn”, “deserve”, and “merit”. What does this suggest about how salvation is achieved? 22:09 Verses 5-6: We cannot earn our way into heaven. We must develop faith and trust in God and enter into a covenant connection with Him. There is no greater cause than the gathering of Israel. 26:31 If we take the courtroom analogy too far, we will miss the truth about the love of God that makes salvation possible in the midst of the laws of justice and mercy. 29:15 In the New Testament book of Revelations, one of the titles for Satan is the accuser. He is the ultimate finger pointer who would have us point fingers at each other. 31:59 Verses 6-7: The term "heart" contains the words hear, ear, He, and art. Jesus is the light and life of the world. Darkness cannot control us when we have the light of Christ. 34:36 Verses 8-10: Come is an action word. Seek for truth then act. Follow the covenant path. 37:11 Verses 11-14: Introduction to Enoch and his city. Zion is separated or set apart from the world. The name Enoch means dedicated. He is dedicated to the cause of Zion. 39:55 Verses 16-59: Repeat of Matthew 24 and Joseph Smith-Matthew. Verses 16-24 provide a historical context of the destruction of Jerusalem. 46:57 Matthew 24 contains an accurate prophecy with details surrounding the destruction of Jerusalem. God knows the end from the beginning. He has a perfect plan for us. We can trust Him. 49:22 verses 24-30: The times of the Gentiles can be compared to the parable of the wheat and the tares. 55:32 verses 28-35: “A light shall break forth” . . . “my disciples shall stand in holy places, and shall not be moved” . . . “be not troubled.” Instead of looking at the problems listed, we can look to the solution. These promises shall be fulfilled. 1:00:09 verses 36-39: Parable of the Fig Tree. Why use the fig tree? Is there a connection with the fig leaves that Adam and Eve used to cover their nakedness in the Garden of Eden? 1:04:35 verse 40-44: Additional signs of the 2nd Coming. Look to the Prophet, Seers, and Revelators to learn about the 2nd Coming. 1:07:46 verses 45-59: Resurrection at the time of the 2nd Coming; the Jews discover the true Messiah; the millennial reign of Jesus Christ; the parable of the 10 Virgins will be fulfilled; the Lord shall be in their midst. 1:10:12 verse 64-75: Jesus’ interpretation of Matthew 24. We gather people into the fold of God so they may be part of the five wise virgins. Focus on the beautiful things happening, trust Jesus, exercise faith in Him, and follow His appointed servants.
