Human rights advocates have criticised African leaders for the lack of intervention in Mozambique's northern region. This weekend saw Islamist militants seizing control of the town of Palma, killing several people including at South African Adrian Nel. French company Total was forced to suspend operations at a huge gas project. Initial reports indicate that the civilian population has been fleeing Palma in all directions, some all the way up into neighboring Tanzania. SABC's Isaac Lukando has more.
