VIRTUAL PRESENTING: CAMERA SELECTION When I advise others about switching to an online set up, I prefer to keep it cheap. My usual advice is that you don't need to spend really any money to make your studio look great. There is one thing that I do encourage people to spend money on - a camera. You can find an HD webcam that will do everything you need it to for about $25, but that doesn't mean you can't spend more. I have chosen to spend a little bit of money to make my video look better than just a webcam. Here I am using a Canon R500, which I spent $200 on in 2014. If you use a higher end camera, you can get higher end results. My camera has a rotating window, meaning that I can look at myself when I talk, but it looks like I'm talking to the camera still. For an online environment, this allows me to talk to the camera. A little bit of money can give you a lot of benefit and create a high quality video.
