In today's episode I chat with Rachael O'Donnell, Managing Director of Unique Homecare, Lincoln. A former psychiatric and mental health nurse, who's path surprisingly took on it's own twists and turns; as life has a tendency to do, from dreaming and planning for a career working with horses, to finding herself as a specialist nurse working within the high security unit of Rampton Hospital. Rachael shares her own personal experience of healthcare services both as a practitioner and through the eyes of a service user. Firstly through the experience of her younger sister, her own journey through Anorexia and more recently, witnessing her mum's need for hospital support during a bipolar episode in the Covid-19 lockdown. Finally, Rachael shares how Covid gave her the reflection time she needed to listen to the nudges from the universe and follow her passion to step outside of her comfort zone and step into her new role as Managing Director of Unique Homecare.
