She is the top ranked Asian American hooper in the country and showed why with her dominant performance at the West Coast Jamboree. Down the stretch, she takes over games with ease and has no fear of putting the team on her back. Sierra Canyon is one of the top teams in the nation and is coming off a state title. The highlights you see feature the semifinals and finals of the tournament. Vanessa and company scrapped out a tough down-to-the-wire victory over Saint Joseph's Notre Dame in the semifinals but lost a thriller in the finals to the top team in the country Mater Dei. Despite the loss, Vanessa was awarded the Jim Capoot Memorial Award, given to the player who exemplified the greatest sportsmanship and inspirational play.
