Rhythm play along with quarter notes, quarter rests, eighth notes, sixteenth notes, and sixteenth note groupings with eighth notes. I couldn't find a rhythm play along on YouTube with sixteenth note groupings with eighth notes, so I decided to make my own! Lesson suggestions: *Before this lesson, students should be proficient at echoing these rhythms in 4 beat patterns* All 8 beat patterns are played 2x 1st - Teacher reads with rhythm syllables, then students speak syllables after the repeat. 2nd - Students "think" the rhythm, then speak the rhythm with syllables after the repeat. 3rd - Students read the rhythm with syllables, then clap, pat, or play non-pitched percussion after the repeat. 4th - Students clap, pat, or play non-pitched percussion for entire video. Use the "Groove Time" as a place to improvise OR just take a dance break! Throughout the lesson, pause the video on any rhythm card the students struggle with and review. If necessary, click on the "settings" to adjust the playback speed to make it easier, or more challenging! HAVE FUN! Please SUBSCRIBE! More rhythm play alongs coming soon!
