Today, Scott and Ganel-Lyn start with this question: Why did Joseph Smith go into the grove that day? He actually didn’t go just to find out which church was true. He was feeling a dissonance within himself, he was seeing wickedness around him, and he was worried about his own sins. He wanted to feel heaven. But before he felt heaven, he experienced darkness, which shows us that we shouldn’t be afraid of the darkness we feel in our lives as we search for light—as we strive to have our own sacred grove experience. Have you ever had a sacred spiritual experience? We invite you to create your own sacred grove, which may be a desk, a square of carpet, or a chair, so that you can develop a revelatory relationship with God. It will be a sacred place that will allow you to wrestle with the darkness and find the light and love of God.
