Gary continues to explore his "favorite chapters in the Bible," this week focusing his attention on the deeper spiritual concepts found in Colossians chapter one. Some might call this chapter one of the foundation stones of Scripture. The Apostle Paul wrote a brilliant and heartfelt treatise about Jesus, written while chained to a Roman guard in a Roman prison around 60 AD. If you doubt Divine inspiration, this chapter stands as a proof text. Referencing many complicated thoughts that are "hard to be understood," Paul shares some intimate thoughts and descriptions of our Savior that defy our limited human understanding. The one who left His heavenly throne and walked from town to town in dusty sandals, healing the sick and making the blind to see, eventually gave His life for all of humanity. Who can fathom that they killed the One who created everything? The One Scripture says is preeminent in all things. Paul references "the hidden mystery" among the Gentiles, the hope we have in Christ, and our inconceivable destiny of sharing eternity as a member of His own body. One day soon we will understand! Heaven awaits! www.prophecywatchers.com facebook.com/prophecywatchers
