Ether 6-11 | November 16-22 Lesson 45—November 15 “That Evil May Be Done Away” #promisedland #letgodprevail #praise #praisegod #jesuschrist How do you get through your personal storms of life? How is Christ helping you get to your promised land? This week we dive into what it means to be tight like unto dish, just like the brother of Jared and his family were as they traveled across the sea to the promised land. After commending themselves to God, this people found a unique way—a way tailored to their situation and needs—to cross the waters, and God was with them the whole time. We learn several things from this, one of which is that the Lord is mindful of those who obey, and He will prepare a way to accomplish the thing that He commands them, just like we learn from Nephi. The second thing we learn is that God works with our individual personalities to help us find the path to the promised land. There’s not just one way—there are many ways, and the Lord will pave a way for you based on your life, your personality, and your situation. The third thing we learn is that we need to be tight like unto a dish in a spiritual sense so that we can be “prepared and endowed in a way to withstand the storms of life.” As we find ourselves in the depths of the sea, whether that’s depression, chronic illness, or financial problems, we can know that we will be okay because we’re holding tight to Christ just like He’s holding tight to us. We can’t control the waves, but we can control the praise. Our invitation to you is to find ways to praise God amidst your daily struggles. Find time once a day or even once a week to praise God despite the waves.
