Step 3: In the general settings window that opens, click on Qemu VMs and then on the New button. Step 4: In the QEMU VM Name window, type a name you want, and click Next. Step 5: In the QEMU Binary and Memory window, make a selection according to the bit version of your operating system in the binary options section and set a value in the RAM part, depending on the performance of your computer hardware, and then click Next. Step 6: In the Console Type window, continue with the telnet option. Step 7: In the Disk Image window, click the Browse button and select the vIOS-L2.vmdk file you downloaded to your computer in the window that opens, and click the Open button. At this stage, a warning window will pop up and click the Yes button. Step 8: After adding the IOS image, click the Finish button. Later, click the Edit button in the Templates window and configure the category of the device as Switches. Step 9: In the Network tab, in the Name Format section, change the name of the ethernet interfaces of the L2 device to GigabitEthernet. Step 10: Also, in this tab, you can configure how many adapters you will add to the device in the Adapters section. Step 11: If you have specified a 256MB RAM value in the installation, you can change this value from the RAM option in the Edit / General Settings tab. Step 12: Now that your L2 device is ready, drag and drop it from Devices to the work area and run it.
