Step 2: Connect the Cisco Switches with Cross cable and wire all devices to ensure redundancy. Step 3: Configure the TCP/IP settings on the two computers you added. Step 4: Next, specify the #Switch you will configure #Root #Bridge. Step 5: Open the CLI command prompts of the switches and execute the show spanning-tree command in enable mode and check and note the Priority values. Step 6: At the CLI command prompt of the device you will configure as root, execute the command spanning-tree vlan 1 root primary in config mode. Next, verify the value (This bridge is the host) in the Root ID section with the show spanning-tree command in enable mode. Step 7: Now execute the spanning-tree vlan 1 root secondary command in config mode on the relevant device to configure the Secondary device on the network. Then, run the show command in enable mode again and check the Priority value in the Root and Bridge ID section. The value here will be lower than the Priority values of other devices on the network. Step 8: Now, to verify the redundancy on the network, completely power down the Root Bridge device or shut down some of its ports with the shutdown command.
