This video shows you the steps to set up or select the Root Bridge in the configuration for Spanning Tree on Cisco Layer 2 Switches using GNS3. ✅ S U B S C R I B E ► goo.gl/8d0iG9 ✅ Article ► www.sysnettechsolutions.com/en/set-root-bridge-on-cisco-switch-in-gns3/ In the Layer 2 Cisco Switch, the priority values of the switches are handled to configure the #Root #Bridge. Also, in a network that does not manually configure the Root Bridge, the #Switch with the lowest MAC address is automatically selected as the Root Bridge. If you want to make your network more secure, or if you want to have a controllable and networked structure, you need to configure the Root Bridge device manually. To select a Cisco Switch as the Root Bridge, simply execute the spanning tree vlan 1 priority 4096 command at the CLI prompt. You can use the show span tree command to verify the device you selected in Root Bridge. You can see the message This bridge is the root in the output of this command.
