This video shows you the configuration and analysis steps of the Spanning Tree protocol on Layer 2 Switches running on the GNS3 network simulator program. ✅ S U B S C R I B E ► goo.gl/8d0iG9 ✅ Article ► www.sysnettechsolutions.com/en/examining-spanning-tree-protocol-in-gns3/ Using GNS3, you can better explore and understand the operation of the Spanning Tree protocol on Layer 2 Cisco Switches. When you configure the standard Spanning Tree protocol, you usually need to enable additional features to improve network performance. These features; 1. BackboneFast 2. PortFast 3. BPDU Guard 4. UplinkFast 5. Root Bridge When examining the STP, you must first note which Switch is the Root Bridge. In Privileged Mode, the show spanning-tree command gives you information about the STP. If Root Bridge is not selected by configuring the Priority value of a Cisco Switch on the network, the Switch with the smallest MAC address will be Root. In this video tutorial, you will learn how to examine the #SpanningTree configured by default on Cisco Switches with #GNS3.
