Step 2: Connect two computers to SW1 and SW2. Additionally, do not enable the Trunk port in the connection between switches. Step 3: Switch to simulation mode in PT and ping PC0 to PC3 using ICMP protocol. Your ping will be successful. Step 4: Create VLAN5 on both Switches and execute the switchport access vlan 5 command in config mode of the interfaces to which they are connected to assign PC1 and PC2 to VLAN5. Step 5: The parts marked in red in the network topology in our video tutorial are Native VLAN. Native VLAN or VLAN1 can transmit data packets with or without trunking between switches. Step 6: However, if the Trunk port is not configured at the interfaces of the switches, VLAN5 and VLAN1 members will not be able to communicate. Step 7: Although the purpose of the topology here is simple, it explains why devices that are members of the VLAN created for a specific group with Native VLAN cannot communicate.
