Is it possible for a hamster to drive a truck? Well, it is now! Charlie the hamster is the star of Volvo Trucks' new film The Hamster Stunt, achieving the incredible feat of driving a 15-ton heavy-duty truck up a winding road through a Spanish quarry. "Charlie has been carefully selected in an extensive casting process," says animal handler Grace Dickinson. "He showed that he had the most power, the best self-confidence and a positive attitude to learning new things." A hamster wheel was mounted on the steering wheel and by running in different directions, Charlie was able maneuver the truck from the bottom to the top of the quarry, despite his minuscule weight of only 175 grams.
