Photographer Chris Steele-Perkins talks to us about his series ‘The Pleasure Principle’ – a portrait of England’s social elite in the 1980s – featuring both Margaret Thatcher, a semi-nude party goer and a dog p*ssing on Blackpool beach. A member of the prestigious Magnum Photos group since 1979, Chris’ work documents the evolving social landscape at the time. Based on the theme of ‘pleasure’ and the pursuit of it, this series explores hedonism with humour and sensitivity.
