They had some of the writings of the prophets on the plates of Brass, but they didn't have any of the words of Jesus. So when Jesus visited he taught them some of the most important things. Every prophet teaches us important things but there was one prophet who seemed to have some of the most important things to teach. He was a prophet from the Bible named Isaiah. Isaiah lived a long time before Jesus was born, but he prophesied about Jesus coming and many other important things. When Jesus was teaching the Nephites he commanded them to study what Isaiah had said. Isaiah's words are very important but they are also a bit hard to understand. He wrote in a way that makes people have to think and study extra hard to understand. But that's part of why Jesus said they needed to study his words. He taught about the life and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. He also taught that the Lord's people would be gathered in at the last day. He taught about how all people would be taught the gospel and even taught about the Book of Mormon! That's why it's so important to study the words of Isaiah. They teach us about things that happened but also things that are happening now, and things that will happen before and when Jesus comes again. After Jesus had talked to the people about Isaiah he taught the people something else they didn't have in the plates of brass, tithing. #comefollowme #Bookofmormon #scriptureexplorers churchofjesuschristoflatterdaysaints Book of Mormon stories, Book fo Mormon, Latter Day Kids, primary lessons, primary children, Come Follow Me, The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, lds, latter day saints, book of mormon, Nephites, Mormon Channel, Come Follow Me 2020, LDS Primary 2020, Isaiah Jesus Teaches Isaiah, 3 nephi 16 commentary, 3 Nephi 16-20 Come Follow Me, 3 Nephi 16-20, Tithing, Maclachi tithing, Jesus teaches tithing to the Nephites, come follow me
