Farm Service Agency Microloans

The Farm Service Agency (FSA) announced in Jan. 2013 that it was launching a new microloan program for beginning farmers. Very low-interest loans (less than 2%) of up to $35,000 are available with a streamlined application process. Here, Christy Marshall, FSA Farm Loan Chief for NYS, describes the program at a March 2013 meeting of the Northeast Beginning Farmer Network.
