If she wins her runoff election on May 27, she will be the first African American to ever be nominated for U.S. Senate from the state of Texas. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Kesha is leading the effort within the Democratic Party to dump the Wall Street-Obama apparatus and pick up where the country left off after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. In 2001, she graduated from Texas State University with a double major in Political Science and Communications.
