Many of the wicked Nephites started to think it had been too long and the sign hadn't come. They were happy because they didn't want to beleive in Jesus. They actually set a day where they said that if the sign did not come they would kill everyone who had believed in it. If you remember the Nephi we learned about last time, he had a son named Nephi who was in charge of the church. He was so sad that the believers were going to be killed. He prayed. Jesus told him to be of good cheer, he was about to be born. That night the sun went down, but it stayed light outside! Jesus had been born! For awhile after this the people were very good, and they believed. But it wasn't very long before the people started to be bad again. Do you remember the Gadianton robbers? Well, they were back with a new leader. He is name was Giddianhi. Giddianhi wrote a letter to the chief judge telling him that the Nephites should give everything have to the Gadianton robbers, or they would all be killed. The chief judge was a good man named Lachoneus. He was not afraid of a robber. So Lachoneus had all the good Nephites and Lamanites come together to live in one part of the land near Zarahemla. The robbers lived in the mountins, far away from Zarahemla. With all the good people gone the robbers soon found out they had nothing to rob!
