This is part one a documentary based on research into the oral traditions of a group of people living in Southern Africa known as the Lemba or Black Jews. It is based on research done at the University of South Africa Unisa) in Pretoria and the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London and filming was done with researchers and local people in South Africa, Zimbabwe, France and London.
