He climbed on the city wall to teach the people in Zarahemla. He taught the people about Jesus but there was more than that. He gave them a very specific prophecy about when Jesus would come. Samuel tried to just teach the people in the city, but they were wicked and didn't want to listen to him. He left feeling sad, but then the voice of the Lord came to him and told him he needed to return. But he couldn't just go into the city, they would just throw him out again. So you know what he did! He taught the Nephites that he had learned from an angel that Jesus would be born soon. He also taught the Nephites would soon make some very bad decisions and the land would be cursed for their sakes. But Heavenly Father wanted to Nephites to know when Jesus would be born, so he told Samuel about a sign he could tell the Nephites to look for so that they would know. When Jesus would be born there would be a day, and night and a day where there would be no darkness. When the sun would go down it would still be light outside, all night! He also taught them that that would happen in 5 years. But Jesus came to die for our sins and be resurrected, so Samuel also let the people know that there would be signs when he died. At his death there would be darkness for three days with no light, thunder, lightning, earthquakes and even more scary things! #comefollowme #Bookofmormon #scriptureexplorers
