GENOCIDE - TRUTH and RECONCILIATION --- www.hmtcli.org/event/herero/ --- As the Americans in New York discuss on the Imperial German Genocide holocaust, Conscious Communiversity thoroughly thought about their event "If they are talking about all these topics in America, what are we as Namibians, the victims, talking about?" Thus, Conscious Communiversity is hosting a forum of the same nature as that in America, on the same day: 22 May 2016. Where we’ll discuss the same topics with our people, the direct victims of the holocaust. Topics to be addressed include: + Life before European invasion and colonization + Resistance + Genocide, mass rape and sexual enslavement + Concentration camps and human and “racial” “experimentation” + Parallels and connections to the Holocaust + Long-term effect of the genocide: psychological and social + Denial and disenfranchisement + Reparations and return of victims’ remains + Learning from Holocaust Survivors and their success with reparations --- The forum will be held under the theme “Truth & Reconciliation” to overcome what divides us. The dialogue may be the ultimate tool to healing and uniting ourselves as a people. Since the subject is so delicate, Conscious Communiversity would stay out of politics on this matter altogether, especially the quote by Chief Rukoro. We will merely offer a “Truth and Reconciliation” forum, inviting people to join, come forward & talk about their suppressed feelings, allow them to surface, to hear and acknowledge the pain, and to transmute them. No politics or personal agendas. Ideally, this forum should be open to both the victims and the perpetrators. However, none of the victims nor perpetrators are alive today. That is why it is important to leave out politics and personal agendas. ---
