New technology allows us to look inside the brain to see recovery after stroke. Kari Dunning describes how this research challenges long held beliefs while giving new hope for stroke survivors. Dr.Dunning is Associate Professor & Director of the Neural Excitability, Therapeutics and Recovery (NET Recovery) Laboratory in the Dept. of Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Cincinnati. She is a member of the Greater Cincinnati Northern KY Stroke Team. Dr. Dunning has been involved in over 30 research studies funded by a variety of agencies including National Institutes of Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, private industry, publishing over 45 peer reviewed articles and conducting over 30 scientific presentations in the past 5 years. Dr. Dunning is the recipient of the previous four year American Heart Association Scientist Development Award and the Majistro Family Research Grant from the Foundation for Physical Therapy.
