The Explorers Club has a number of club flags that are awarded to expeditions to carry as they go about the business of science, discovery, exploration, investigation and adventure. You must apply to the Flags and Honours Committee for this privilege. Our 2019 Expedition to gather data for the first comprehensive atlas of the Marshall Islands was awarded Flag #73. One of the expectations of the club is that expeditions will report on their findings in a variety of ways, including short videos that capture the essence of the project. This is the first of two submitted to the Explorers Club in New York in September 2019. The plan was to actually return the flag at the Explorers Club Annual Dinner in October which, sadly, was cancelled due to the pandemic. We're on deck to present and return the flag as soon as the club is able to once again host the dinner.
