Clip Tip: How to Tell if your Lawn Needs Watering

submitted by Michael Dello Russo on 06/10/20 1

Part of our "Watering 'Dews' and Dont's" segment this video gives you four quick ways to tell if your lawn is in need of some water. Your typical lawn needs one hour of watering one to two times a week. To tell if your lawn is in need of water you need to keep an eye on the signs. If the grass turns a blue to blueish-grey tint it needs water. Perform a "footprint" test where you take a step on the lawn and if your grass doesn't spring back, it needs water. Take a close look at the actual grass blades themselves and look for cupping of the leaves. Lastly, you can dig down into the soil with a screwdriver or similar and feel for moisture yourself. We hope this helps, thank you for choosing NaturaLawn of America!
