This is the full length video from my trip this summer to Staniel Cay in the Exumas Islands The Bahamas. I have traveled all over the Caribbean, I even spent 3 weeks on a sailboat sailing through the islands from St Lucia all the way to Martinique and Trinidad Tobago. But no place I have ever been was this amazing. The people. The water and of course the wild Swimming pigs, iguanas, friendly sharks, the bluest water in the world and me just being me! :) Yes those are pigs and yes they are swimming. Legend has it that a shipwrecked on the reef that was carrying pigs and goats and they swam to shore. They have been there for about 20 years and are fed by visitors from the nearby yachts and the hotel. The island they live on is called "Big Major Cay" and there are said to be about 22 pigs and 12 goats that live there. They are very aggressive if you get too close. They don't want to hurt you, they just want to eat! I actually hugged one of them :) This island I was on has a population of 80. You can drive the entire thing by golf cart in about 25 minutes from end to end. I rented a boat and explored the other islands in the Exumas included Compass Cay with the friendly sharks...yes, friendly sharks! I also checked out Guana Cay that is inhabited by Iguana lizards that come rushing out to greet you like Jurassic Park! Thunderball Grotto was like being inside an enormous aquarium. They filmed the famous James Bond film "Thunderball" here which is where it got its name and they also filmed the movie "Into the Blue" with Jessica Alba and the late Paul Walker which was amazing. If you want to see paradise in person this is the place to do it. It isn't cheap and it isn't easy to get to. You'll need to charter a plane to get there as there are no commercial airlines that fly. But it's worth every penny I promise you!
