Sheffield was bombarded by four 'targeted' shootouts in a period of 24 hours on Friday as cars and buildings were caught in the crossfire. The South Yorkshire city was plagued by gun violence from 12am until 7.30pm as 'two groups of men' battled it out in Burngreave, Sharrow and Nether Edge. South Yorkshire Police have arrested two men, aged 20 and 23 in connection with the shootings in Nether Edge At just after midnight on Friday, May 8, shots were fired at a group of men and three people were taken to hospital, police revealed. Two hours later, at 2am, a 53-year-old man was shot in the arm and leg at an address in Sharrow. None of the men's injuries are thought to be life-threatening. By 6.54pm that evening there were firearms 'discharged between two groups of men' in the Nether Edge area. When police arrived at the scene they found damage to two vehicles and a window of a nearby property consistent with firearm discharge. They later found a firearm nearby.
