Alcohol’s Effects on the Brain (AlcoholFX) is a free, science-based app for tablets that teaches students ages 10–12 how alcohol can harm their brains if they drink. The video concept ‘Classroom’ highlights AlcoholFX as a research-based tool that is easily integrated into existing curriculums. Beyond required curricula, educators also grapple with outside influences and how to best address them in the classroom setting. This video highlights the teacher’s important role in educating youth about the consequences of underage drinking and introduces AlcoholFX as a meaningful, applicable resource to spark positive, healthy conversations. We applied an informative, enthusiastic, tutorial-style approach, which highlights the use of the app from initial exploration through lesson development through classroom application. The final product is a resource that CBOs can use to help SAMHSA educate audiences and increase the use of the AlcoholFX app. Client: The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Agency: ICF International Directed by: Melanie Dorn & Sean McClintock Creative Director: Melanie Dorn Illustration & Design: Sean McClintock 2D Animation: Jules Guerin , Sam Bass 3D Modeling: Sean McClintock 3D Animation: Eli Enigenburg Copywriter: Alisa Weinstein Sound Design: Bradley Tehaan
