Our speaker Hangout series picks back up this Wednesday, February 5, as we chat with Jennifer Aaker, the General Atlantic Professor of Marketing at Stanford's Graduate School of Business. Aaker's work as a social psychologist, marketer, and lecturer has focused on the persuasive power of storytelling, and her acclaimed book, "The Dragonfly Effect," explored the impact narrative can have on creativity, action, and happiness. At Stanford, Aaker's celebrated course "The Power of Stories to Fuel Innovation," teaches students that "harnessing the power of stories will enable you to be more persuasive, move people to action, and progress into your career." During the hangout Aaker -- alongside other industry stalwarts -- will examine the ways in which a masterful storyteller can weave together data and narrative in order to appeal to an audiences's intellect and emotions. In the meantime, learn more about the symbiotic relationship between statistics, sentiment, and storytelling by watching Aaker's 2013 FoST film (upper left). And as always, please submit questions for her via Google+ and Twitter (@FoSTorg). We will do our best to include them in the conversation! Virtual Roundtables feature a different FoST speaker every Wednesday at 12:30pm EST, as part of the ongoing weekly series.
