Anak, written and originally performed by Freddie Aguilar is probably the most important song in Filipino popular culture of the last 50 years. There have been numerous cover versions, but I felt the song deserved a true re-imagining. I played every instrument and re--arranged virtually every part of the song from the drum groove, to the famous guitar lick, to the string arrangement, and the bass line.
