When I think of Seuss and his impact on children I think of both literacy and imagination. With this film I wanted to capture the nostalgic feel of his work and his legacy, while at the same time informing the viewer on the eclectic career of Ted Geisel (Seuss’ proper name). A critical view of Geisel exposes a political and at times scandalous life that often gets left out of the conversation when referencing his work in children’s literature. This film acts as a tribute to Seuss’ legacy, a documentary on his biographical details, and some modern comedic conjecture which I believe Seuss would appreciate. I hope the film brings the viewer back to their childhood for a moment while at the same time demonstrates the impact Dr. Seuss has on society. This film was made for educational purposes as an assignment for a children's literature course. All footage is being used for educational purposes and was found on Youtube.
