Oltenia is a region of Romania known to be deeply rooted in traditions fused with ancient rituals and superstitions. Not many mission trips get organized in this area given the spiritual and social hardships. Youth With a Mission Christian organization sends teams on short-term missions for some years now in the unconsidered region of Oltenia. I always hear Oltenia is a dry place from a spiritual point of view. I hear the most unkind words concerning Oltenia. I've come to think it might be us, the Christians in Oltenia, that are at fault. I said to myself it's imperative that I change in order to hope for a change in Oltenia. This is why I decided my first mission trip will be in Oltenia. The young missionaries ministered in three places: Poiana Mare, Slatina and Craiova. Most of the activities were addressed to children and youth. It was a great revival ! When people who wanted to be prayed for were invited forward, more than half of those present came. Even though in Poiana Mare we didn't have an outstanding revival experience, in Slatina was something different.The youth activities were noteworthy in Craiova. In every location we organized activities for children and revivals, and in Craiova we also had a meeting for youth. In Craiova we made visits to the patients of a hospital. God has shown His glory there in a way I didn't expect. We were glad to see people being touched. We hope to continue the previously mentioned projects. What I am most thankful for to God is our team's unity. We enjoyed the time spent together and were very united. I didn't expect that. Before we left, I noticed I didn't know at all most of the team. I asked God what to do, thinking our differences will give us a hard time, but we got along very well precisely because of our differences. I've heard things that helped me greatly. God spoke to me and I received answers to questions that arose in my heart after He had previously told me some things in prayer that I didn't understand. Put your faith in Christ no matter what ! Even if everyone might persecute you, don't look away from God ! God prepares young people from Oltenia willing to share the Gospel in their region. I believe this mission trip was just the beginning. I hope this ministry will continue. I want to be an intercessor for my family, my church and my town. God can work wonders. He works according to our faith and I want to believe with all my heart that He wants to pour his Holy Spirit upon us, young and all, so that we can experience grace. I pray Oltenia will flourish and that God's name will be upon it. ''Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.''
