A spec of dust in your eye and ... you might not no where it's gone. Never trust blinkers, my mother used to say, 'Cause you never know what they're thinking when they're blinking. Might be thinking evil thoughts. Might be thinking dirty thoughts. The eyes are the window to the soul my mother used to say, never trust people who keep their windows shut all the time like the Sandersons next door. In a blink, you might run a red light and go just a little too far. In a blink, you might miss meeting eyes with 'love at first sight.' In a blink, you might walk into the wrong bathroom. And in a blink today, can become tomorrow. And in blink that tomorrow can become another tomorrow. And if you blink away enough tomorrows, you can blink away an eternity. Don't blink too much, my mother always used to say, 'Cause if you blink too much, you'll go blind. ----------------------- When we were young, we used to catch the sun with our eyes. We were told it was really just a hole in the sky that let the light of heaven shine through. And we believed it was true. We would stare at it hard and think, I'm not gonna blink, first. I'm not gonna blink, first. And we'd just keep staring, letting the light of heaven burn into our eyes. You could feel your soul getting brighter and brighter. I'm not gonna blink. I'm not gonna blink. I'm not gonna blink, till I go blind. And we'd shut our eyes tight. But instead of darkness, We could still see the sun. 'Cause we had taken a little bit more of God's goodness inside us. You could feel this great big warm ball of sunshine eating away at the darkness and leading us into the light. ---------------------- So come on give it up, give us some coin for the cup. See the error of your ways. See God's heavenly rays. You close your eyes and it's black as coal, but I have a third eye in my soul. And I can see the sun. I can see the sun. Thank you. Bless you. May your heaven make you blind.
