It was November 26th, two days before Thanksgiving 2019. Matt and I were on a creative quest to shoot some photography and fly the drone at the Trestle Bridge in Minot, ND. It was a bitterly cold day. The sun was falling suddenly, and temperature was dropping fast. We grabbed the cameras, planned our shot, cleared the sd cards, charged the batteries, and had the car packed full of equipment eargely awaiting to be used. It was our goal to snap a photo on top of the railroad tracks over looking the valley beneath at sunset showcasing the beauty of the North Dakota landscape. Who better to capture it then Matt. @mattylens on insta...drop the dude a follow. Two vlog cameras -- a GH5 and GH5s The Photo camera -- the canon 5D mark IV Which does some incredible work, the camera does exactly what you want it to do. Easy to function and has incredible quality. It no reason this is Matt's camera of choice. At least for now. And the drone -- the DJI spark Clarity from the sky with ease, using my mobile phone to fly, and with no need to carry extra batteries this drone was ideal for the mini shoot that day. Every shoot has its challenge, and the weather had other plans as we approached trestle, the wind picked up and the temperature dropped 10 degrees. Both Matt and I were freezing. We didn't bring with gloves or proper coats, and I know we are from North Dakota and we are breed with freakish Sasquatch abilities to with stand cold, but in this case, the beard and chest hair couldn't defeat the brisk wind. So what happened next? we snapped a few quick photos, hurried back to the car, blasted the heat, and reviewed our shots. We didn't get the shot we wanted, but we were able to walk away with a photo we liked, and experience for the next time we go after the shot. #cinematic #minot #northdakota
