For starters, the day I am finishing this video my Hamster, Tito passed away. I don't know how old he was when i got him, but i had him for almost 16 months & his health seemed fine, so I assume he died of old age. This video is dedicated to Tito, Goodnight lil bud! This is a compilation of all of the video I Timelapsed and filmed over the course of several nights as my Cereus Peruvianus ( syn. Cereus repandus ) or the peruvian apple cactus, exploded with a display of massive short lived flowers. The peruvian apple cactus is a gem among cactus and succulents, hardy cactus that grows quickly and when the time is right buds and blooms giant flowers in the evening which are pollinated by bats. The flowers last only one for one night then if pollinated put forth large red edible fruit enjoyed people and tortoises, known as peruvian apples. This was my first time timelapsing with photography instead of video, so there are plenty of blurry and noisy clips, sorry! By the third night i had it figured out to adjust my exposure and f-values before starting the timelapse. Thanks to Julien Solomita for inspiring with his amazing lapses and videography, he is where i learned what kind of camera and lens to use for these types of projects. I used Sony alpha a7sii with a sigma art dg 20mm lens, with the adapter for canon to sony. Hopefully there will be many more of these to come and the quality will keep improving!
